Toucheng Township, Yilan County｜老街懷舊食堂

For us, travellers from Europe who don't speak/read Mandarin, it's tricky to order food in Taiwan. We picked this restaurant because we saw some pictures of the meals. But we were pleasantly surprised when the chef offered us a menu in English. We paid a total of $500/€15 for 3 meals, drinks and extra rice. The meals were absolutely delicious! Very tasteful. Even our young kids couldn't get enough of it. Staff is super friendly and the place has a great vibe. We loved the interior with all the vintage items and vintage film posters. We definitely recommend eating here.

Great Taiwanese food! English menu and cheap. Service was nice and the environment feels like you’re in 1980s Taiwan. Most popular meal seems to be fried chicken leg with rice and veggies. Loved it!
