5-star for the food: broth of the beef soup had a nice, earthy flavor. Beef slices in the soup were fresh and blanched just right. Only thing that's lacking is the service, which can be described as efficient or curt depending on how you look at it. Note that you have to secure a seat first before you order.

I've found the BEST beef in the world!! This is like nothing we had, not in HK, not even in China. This fresh warm Taiwan beef is sweet, super smooth and tender. The fattier cuts have a more of a buttery taste. The beef bone broth is clear and savory but not salty at all. We added some ginger and white pepper that further brightened up the flavor of the soup. Stayed in Tainan for 3 days - and we had lunch at Ah Cai for 3 days in a row because this is the most heavenly food we've had in forever!! Be sure to get there early especially on holidays because the rare cuts get sold out really quickly.

The beef is very fresh and delicious. The soup is fresh and sweet. Vegetables are fresh.
