We chanced upon this local store when walking down the street after breakfast. The soup was fragrant, comforting, and the boullion was made with lots of care. Highly recommended if you want a tadte of Tainan.

I rode a t-bike all the way across the city at 4:30am just to have breakfast here. It absolutely did not disappoint. I turned this trip to Tainan into a beef soup tour and tried every "famous" beef soup joint, including the 24 hour one down the street. To be honest, every single one of them are excellent. However, I do want to single out this one and the 6 thousand beef soup. These 2 are exceptional. The soup here feels light (as in not greasy) yet extremely flavorful. The beef was nice and tender. Because this place wasn't as crowded as some of the other ones at this hour, I got my soup right after the beef was sliced. It gave me a chance to try out rescuing the beef at different stages. It didn't just affect the tenderness of the beef. It also affected the flavor of the soup. As I went through the bowl of soup, I experienced different flavors in the beef and the soup. This made the experience truly exceptional. For me, this joint offered the best experience with a nice view of the canal. It was extremely clean (yes, even the restroom!) It gave me plenty of time to enjoy my meal without being rushed without dozens of jealous eyes staring at me. It certainly didn't hurt that the owner was also super nice. I saved this place as my favorite. I'm definitely coming back. Oh and yes, check out the attached Google timeline screenshot. I really was here:)
