My fiancée and I randomly stumbled upon 信二三 on Google Maps during our visit to Yilan, Taiwan, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise. We had a truly wonderful evening at this restaurant. 1. At TWD 1800 per head, we found the prices quite reasonable. For the same level of service and food quality, you could easily expect to pay HKD 1800 in Hong Kong. 2. The restaurant has a simple and clean interior design. A charming detail was the adorable kitten in the restroom. 3. The quality of the sashimi was impressive, particularly the squid sashimi which was incredibly fresh and tender. 4. We thoroughly enjoyed the Tempura as well. It was a delicious representation of Taiwanese local flavors in Japanese cuisine. 5. The owner's hospitality was commendable. Despite us being first-time visitors and surrounded by regulars, we were not overlooked. The owner even treated us to OMAR, a local Taiwanese whiskey. 6. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lively and relaxed. We found ourselves toasting with the Taiwanese businessmen at the next table who were also enjoying their evening. In conclusion, if you're after an Omakase experience that offers great value for money, Shin Ni San is an excellent choice. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Yilan.

Had an amazing omakase experience with chef Adonis who displayed excellence and pride in the food he prepared. He shared with us the thought that goes behind each dish (there were more than 15 - I can't remember. We didn't take all photos)! After years of working in Taipei, he decided to return to his hometown Yilan to use local produce and freshest catch to share the concept of omakase there. Was especially impressed by his homemade grilled miso cream cheese that's paired with sake. The creaminess of the cream cheese together with the smooth sweetness of the sake is foodgasm. We can see the effort and thought that goes into the preparation and would definitely recommend you to try their omakase! Cost us NT$1000 per pax and it's really worth visiting!
