I'm very satisfied with the overall dishes. I recommend the peeled chili chicken soup...the papaya milk has a rich and pure fragrance.

Cool live shrimp dish & fish head hot pot! Very yummy. Hole in the wall type of restaurant. I walked down the street to check out all the restaurant to find the most sanitary one on the strip. The owner was friendly and there were a couple groups of people eating large hot pots here and I was informed many who frequent are regular customers here. Their local specialty here is to soak LIVE jumping small shrimps in wine, while you watch the shrimp slowly die off before you consume it. The fish heat hot pot & ingredients are really fresh. When we walked out, the owner just finished cooking a fresh local wild vegetable dish and asked if we want to sample it. Pretty friendly and down-to-earth. I would definitely return to this restaurant over the others if I were to visit the area next time. At least I fee their food is sanitary and I won't get traveler's diarrhea from it.

Very nice and pleasant lake bit away from the city. Although there's bus available from city, but it's not frequent. Better to hire a taxi to reach there. May charge you 1000NT roundtrip. The papaya milk and shrimp food is popular here. There are peddle as well as motor boats available to enjoy the riding in the lake. The weather is very nice as the lake is surrounded by mountains.
