If you are a fan of mullet roe, you will love it here! If you are not sure, this is an amazing place to find out. And if you aren't, there are still plenty of delicious options! Overall the team did an amazing job at providing a 5 star dining experience! I highly recommend this restaurant and will be back for more :) I came here to celebrate my birthday with my fiancee, and they certainly made my night 🥳 The decor was beautiful, the food was delicious, the price was reasonable, and the service was swift, fantastic, and very foreigner-friendly! We ordered the Mullet Set ($660), Abalone with Mayo ($330), and Prawn Salad ($260). With a service charge of $125 (not sure if this is 10% or a flat rate?), our total was $1375. The Mullet Set started with a seasonal Melon appetizer which was a great start to the meal, and arrived very quickly. It had a firm yet soft texture and great flavor. Before we even finished, we were greeted with our prawn salad - there were plenty of vegetables cut to the perfect sizes, and a delicious vinaigrette dressing that paired wonderfully with both the vegetables and the prawns. Next came our 9 small portions of various sides, which matched the photo in the menu. As we worked on this board of food, we also received our mullet roe fried rice, miso soup, and abalone! It was very fun having so many options to pick and choose from as we filled our bellies 🤤 the 9 sides were all fantastic, and was a great variety to sample a lot of the dishes that The Carp has to offer. Everything was so flavorful and I was very happy to experience several different uses of mullet roe, something I had not tried much of before. The only thing that could be improved is that the "seared scallops salad" could have more sear on the scallops, but I'm just being picky 🤣 it was still delicious. Our favorites were definitely the pickled black fungi, the mullet roe and nuts cheese, the chicken, and the pork neck! The miso soup included a good amount of seaweed and tofu, and the fried rice paired wonderfully with everything else on the table. Out of everything, I think the abalone was my favorite! It was cooked perfectly, and went very well with the fried rice as well. I would like to see it paired with a different sauce than mayonnaise, but it still worked very well together! I just think the abalone deserves a bit more love because of how good the meat itself was. Finally, after we finished our main course, they cleared our table as we waited for dessert! I had mentioned that we are celebrating my birthday in our reservation, but I was not expecting anything special. The mullet set already includes a plate with 3 desserts, but they went ahead and surprised us with a second plate so we each had our own set of desserts! The desserts were delicious, and we loved the creativity of the mullet roe cookie! In the end we got to taste 17 unique dishes, and came out full but not overwhelmingly so - the perfect amount to enjoy every flavor! Thank you for the fantastic meal 🤩🎉

The meals are delicious and not overly seasoned, and the side dishes are also delicious, using dry ingredients to make special dishes. The noodles are very chewy and delicious, and the fried rice is not too oily but has distinct grains. The sour plum soup is also very rich. If you feel it is too sweet, you can dilute it by adding water~

A newly-opened ambitious fine-dining noodle shop that will satisfy your every senses. A great place to impress an important business associate, a hot date, or your own palate. Today, my boyfriend and I arrived at Dihua Street and discovered that the gay cafe we wanted to support only opened at 2 p.m., so we decided to dine at this noodle shop that we passed by by accident and had only been open for four months. We ordered tangy spicy noodles, XO sauce dry noodles with candied eggs and dried beets. The appetizers were scallops, avocado, berry vinegar salad, cold jellyfish head that was better than jellyfish skin, Japanese cod liver, and a big bowl of everything. Miso soup. Whether it is the environment, service, ingredients and dishes, they all meet the standards of exquisite life aesthetics. The noodles at this restaurant have a special texture and are so delicious. Really recommend!
