Songshan District, Taipei City｜Cantine Marais

Food was delicious! The price is definitely on the higher side, but this was a nice french restaurant. The interior was modern, a bit on the darker side. But the place is spacious and good for conversations. I loved their fig salad and their sea urchin risotto. Their steak, however, was mediocre. They also only have two dessert options here. Didn’t try either because both options weren’t as interesting as the other menu items.

Went there to celebrate my birthday with some friends, and I was wowed by their starters alongside their services. The minimum spending is 1000NTD per person, but the dishes definitely worth the price. Especially recommend their seafood starters: fresh yet rich in flavors and textures. The mackerel was also grilled to perfection. Last order is at 21:00, but you can still order drinks afterwards. Highly recommend Cantine Marais for a date or a nice meal with friends and family!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Taipei! The food is amazing and reasonably priced. The oysters are so fresh and huge, and they are topped with grape sorbet rather than traditional champagne sauce. Highly recommend this place!
