Hualien City, Hualien County｜老時光燒肉酒肴

Loved this restaurant! Came for an impromptu dinner on a Thursday evening, luckily did not have to wait for a table for 2 - but if you are planning ahead, make a reservation. The menu is quite rich with unique dishes, we had the mountain yam with roe and it was delicious! I also recommend the chicken wing with mentaiko (stuffed with roe), aboriginal pork, and the fried rice ball. Service is also super friendly & fun! You won’t regret coming here.

A nice place to chill out with friends with great food and excellent service in Japanese themed settings. They have different delicious grills and kebabs that all come perfect with either warm sake or cold beer, and even just the appetisers (pickled cherry tomatoes with dried plums) and sweets (sugar-spiced grapefruit) are impressive. A reservation (online or by phone) is virtually required as this place has become one of the most popular restaurants in town.

Certainly the highlight of our trip and a must-go in Hualien! Be prepared to line up early as the line could get really long as they open! Scrumptious food and lively ambience definitely make the long wait worthwhile. Be sure to order their peeling chilly pepper beef skewer and chicken with spring onion, absolute standouts! With its exceptional cuisine and vibrant atmosphere, it is sure to leave a lasting impression and a desire to return time and time again!
