More Comments at Google MapI honestly didn't do a lot of research when my friends gave me a couple of options for dinner so I somewhat randomly picked Kame house from the list not realizing what it was. And it was fantastic! This is a really strange gourmet hawaiian themed teppanyaki restaurant where the staff serenades the guests a couple of times with ukelele's and the chef's perform all the cooking tricks you'd expect - including the volcano which evidently isn't common in Taipei. The staff is super-friendly and banter is expected and encouraged with them. The menu is set with options - so with several of the courses you get to pick a item, with some items (like lobster or wagyu beef) coming with an additional charge. We went all out and got the live lobster and wagyu which were both amazing, with the lobster being my favorite item of the entire meal. Unlike US teppanyaki places, while everything is cooked in front of you it is plated separately like fine dining. As each course is served one of the staff describes what is on the plate, and it includes things like konbu infused foam and fried quails egg. 5 star dining level. The owner is from hawaii and moved to Taiwan years ago, so there's an element of authenticity to the theme, but the food itself is fine dining versions of hawaiian staples. Overall this was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and would recommend it to anyone who wants to try something that's probably unique in the world. Highly recommended.
An experience rather than a dinner. Chefs are amazing and friendly. Enjoy the show and talk to them during the dinner. You will truly appreciate the vibe of the evening. Taste the delicious food perfectly cooked. Try some authentic beer. Enjoy!
My friends and family just had dinner there last night. It was a wonderful atmosphere for dinner with our friends/family and all the kids. Our kids loved the restaurant. It was entertaining to watch the chefs skills of flipping the eggs with the spatulas. They made a little volcano with onions and oil which had flames (my 2 boys loved it). The food was excellent but it was just a fun place to have dinner. The owner taught my son how to play some chords on the Ukulele and they all played a song for our birthdays too. We made another reservation to have a family gathering there...I can't wait to go back again.
