Wanhua District, Taipei City｜群芳自助餐

A nice local self-service cafeteria, providing home-cooking Taiwanese food, with free daily soup and enough seats in the basement. How they charge: Just pick whatever you want on your plate, and the onwer would tell you how much they cost by the items and portion. They don't weight most of the items. But the price is decent, comparing to its tastes, veriaty, and the cleanliness. My top favorites are: 1. Boiled dumplings (in leek & pork flavor) 2. Spicy stinky tofu & duck blood (aromatic with mixed spices) 3. Fried chicken wings/ cutlets/ popcorn chicken 4. Home-made soy milk (it's more like a one-time-only thing) * Though it provides a range of sauteed vegetables, it is not a vegan restaurant. Most vegetables cooked with pork, lard, or small shrimps. And all the dishes may share the same tongs and spoons.
