More Comments at Google MapIf you like robust beef flavor and no frills noodle, this is it! The broth is a bit gamey and noodles knife-cut. Da Kuai was originated from the original Halal store in Han-ko and Buo-ai street, which the soup base has been changed with the addition of cumin which is more reminisce of China. Call ahead for the limited brisket (過橋) if you are a meat lover. Note Da Kuai is no longer Halal but it still offers the all-you-can-eat noodle in the spirits of the original owners.
It belongs to the taste of clear stew. The braised soup is also clear stewed soup and braised in soy sauce. It tastes very refreshing, but it may not be suitable for those who like strong taste. The noodles should be regarded as sliced noodles, which are very Q and fragrant, which is a highlight. What's more, you can add noodles for free or increase the size, which can fully satisfy those with large appetites. The texture and taste of the beef is also quite good. The environment is clean and bright, and the owner is very kind. It is one of the most recommended beef noodles nearby.
First and foremost when you walk in the shop smells like straight beef, which apparently a decent amount of people are making a big deal about with lots of complaints (see reviews). But like come on they sell beef noodles the shop is gonna smell like beef, there’s large pots of beef soup in the back of the shop on the stove use some logic. For the beef noodle itself, first of all the noodles are the highlight/signature for sure, they make it themselves and what makes it different is they are thick and springy, lots of life packed into it you will not be having soggy lifeless noodles here. For the soup, both the stewed and red braised version has its highlights. The red braised is my go to because compared with other shops the flavor is lighter than competitors, in a great way. The red braised soup is lighter in color and lighter in flavor for soy sauce and other seasonings but stronger in taste for beef and beef broth, which should be valued more for beef noodle soup. The clear broth shares the same strengths but is more clear and light with thinly sliced meat as opposed to chunks in the red braised version. Scent for spices like pepper and such are more prevalent in the clear version due to it being made without bean paste as opposed to the red braised version. The garlic sprouts are a great addition to the soup which not a lot of shops do. The side dishes are a good plus, i’d suggest try them all with an emphasis on the cucumber and radish head especially the radish head. They offer refills for noodle and soup free of charge and you can save a refill by telling the server to serve you a large portion from the start. You can also order mix and match for soup/meat for example red soup white meat or white soup red meat. Shop is small and right beside a government building, it gets busy during peak hours.
