Zhongshan District, Taipei City｜Huang Ji Braised Pork

Found it by pure chance searching for Lu Rou Fan on Maps, litterally at 50m from my hotel. There was a line outside, some ppl were just ordering takeout, others waiting to be seated. Menu only in Chinese but they can help you to choose with some English spoken. It’s better to have an idea of what to order in advance, checking the photos/reviews. After ticking your choices, they’ll give you a number and call for it when table is ready. You prepay before getting seated. The total wait was 15-20’, rather reasonable. Braised pork on rice is really delicious , egg also tasty, soup ok but would probably order some water spinach next time or tofu. Total “damage” NT$ 152, really worthy the little wait and totally understandable the popularity of this place.

Inexpensive comfort food. You have to fill a form to eat before you are seated, then you get a number for queueing. After a short period you are seated inside and pay. The food comes in a few minutes.

Fantastic Taiwan "national dish" - the braised pork rice and pork knuckle are delicious. Superrrr difficult to find car park is probably the only problem here.
