Sat in a booth which felt pretty cozy. Classic diner feels. Staff/servers were also really nice and friendly! Haven’t had a nice Caesar Salad (250NT) in a while and this definitely hit the spot. I also had the Spicy Cajun Burger (310NT) and it was pretty good too. I think I overestimated myself and had a pretty hard time finishing both meals 😂 Extra notes: 1. Minimum 250NT per person to dine in 2. 9% service charge (based on my receipt)

Uncle Layman’s Jumbo Burger is one of the classic big burgers still standing in Taipei. We got there at noon on Saturday and had no trouble getting seated without a reservation. Their menu is quite large with tons of American classics like pasta, pizza, burgers, and Mexican. The interior is densely decorated with movie memorabilia of all sorts and it looks like the owner had spent a long time accumulating it over the years and is obviously an American movie fan. It’s also got wood finish for the walls and tables which adds to the old fashioned classic atmosphere of the place. The service was very attentive, professional, and friendly and the food was good, too. The Layman Jumbo Burger is a stack that comes with three beef patties, two boneless chicken legs, two kinds of cheese, quite a bit of vegetables, and a full order of fries. We had the brownie sundae for dessert and the sodas had free refills. I was really happy with my visit there but I think some people might be put off by the old fashioned look of the place. Give it a try though! I’ll be back to take on the jumbo burger 1v1.

Looking for Americana in Asia? Look no further. Legit burgers, loaded fries and beer with a route 66 sign on the wall. In fact, it looks like someone's garage from the US exploded across the walls. Pizza? Pasta? and Omelette's? Of course. Steak and ribs. Can you say Sous Vide? Even country music and jalapeños. But wait, there is more. You aren't in Kansas anymore. You are in the isle of Formosa. So, yes, there is a shrimp salsa burger. Calamari is a must on pizza and and the Around the World burger delivers literally. They are doing something special here. Both traditional and unique. But regardless, it is comfort food at its finest.
