I wasn't planning on eating here. The pho place I was looking for closed early and it was 8:30 pm. It is surprising most restaurants in Taipei close around 8 pm. Anyways walked by and since they were one of the few places open this late, decided to give it a chance especially when there were plenty of customers inside. The staff were quite courteous, I think they knew right away by my mannerism that I was a foreigner and they were quite patient with me and helping me understand their ordering system. I love beef noodle soup and decided to sample. At $150NT it is considered a little bit expensive. However, it is Taipei and I've seen more expensive ones. It all depends on the quantity and quality, especially how much beef they give you as beef is expensive in Taiwan. I was not disappointed. From my picture you can tell it is a large bowl with 6 fine chunks of beef. And to top it off, they actually put greens in the beef noodle soup. That is a genuine plus as greens in the salty beef soup is a palette cleanser and it just makes the overall presentation that much more appealing. The taste is great. It is not too salty and the broth is quite delicious. The beef part they used is the typical kinda dense part. My mom uses the same. Though I much prefer the softer tangy part close to the tendons, but this part of the beef is much more filling and they did a good job. It was not overcooked, and there were barely any chewy tendon, all beef. Overall, I would give this experience a 4. But seeing how they really do not deserve a 3, I'm going to up it up to a 5. My only suggestion would be to put in a glass door between the dining area and outside. In a tropical place like Taiwan, this is beneficial to keeping out flies, street noises, pollution, etc... and just overall makes your restaurant more professional and clean. The cost you save from the air conditioning itself for one summer should easily pay back for the door. Overall a good experience.

tasty

Although the dumplings and pot stickers grow to 6 pieces each, they are still delicious!
