Very cozy little Japanese restaurant. The waitress/owner speaks just a little bit of English. Google Translate is your friend. When I came shortly after they opened the restaurant was already quite full. Got a small table outside the restaurant. Dishes come as they are ready, so not in a traditional order. All dishes were very tasty and everything was very fresh.

I went on a trip to Taipei and wanted to go to a local pub, so I found this place. All the food was seasoned with just a little salt, so it was nice to feel the unique taste. If you are looking for a quiet and delicious restaurant for Taipei people, this is the place.

We found this from Google reviews and it was even better than the 4.7 rating. We went just after the posted 6:30pm but couldn’t find it - it turns out it was still closed and the lights were out. After walking around we tried again about 20 mins later and sure enough the lights were on. There was a friendly chef inside who didn’t speak much English but we got by using Google Translate. The chef invited us inside to view the freezer and we chose our courses by saying yes or no to each item we were shown - we chose noodles, greens, pork, beef, mushrooms, zucchini, and baby corn. Everything was delicious! We washed it all down with Taiwan Beer, and our chef even threw in what he called tian bu la (fish cakes) for free. We loved all the food! Simple food, prepared well.
