More Comments at Google MapFairly consistently good. We stopped in right before they close so the selections were limited. Had an egg roll/pancake thing, a savory soy milk and a plain soy milk. All tasted great. The owners didn’t rush us and went about their work to close the place down. Hope to be back again.
This is a street side traditional breakfast place at its best. It doesn’t have fancy setting, smart utensils and there’s little logic to the service. However, the team continues to produce simple Taiwanese breakfast foods with authentic traditional recipes without cutting corners. The flat bread (shao-bin) is crispy on the outside, airy on the inside, it’s just the right density to carry some yo-tiao or spring onion omelette. If you dig thick doughy shao-bin, this is not your thing. The pan seared bao (shuei-jian-bao) has the perfect dough and veg filling balance; actually it’s super generous on the filling, not overly doughy and dry like a lot of other places. The steam pork soup dumplings (shao long bao) are surprisingly sophisticated and tasty for a place like this; at that price it’s shockingly good. And the rice balls (fan-tuan) are stuffed tight like how they should. Last but not least, the homemade soy milk is also superior to many of the other breakfast stalls around. I never knew how delicious and precious this place is until I ate many many other horrible traditional breakfast…!
My to go place for traditional Taiwanese breakfast. Their rice roll is to die for. Must visit every time I’m back in town. Watch out for their hours though, sometimes they have random days off. Open till late at night. Perfect late night snack option.
