A fantastic addition to the neighborhood! If you're bored with the typical Taiwanese breakfast shop offerings, check out this Hong Kong-inspired breakfast shop. I love their signature pineapple bun (波羅包) sandwich which layers a fried egg, your choice of meat, lettuce, and tomato into a warm, fresh-from-the-oven pineapple bun. The crisp, slightly sweet topping on the bread and the savory sandwich filling make for a great, refreshing combination! Their egg pancake (蛋餅) is also slightly different from the usual Taiwanese fare. The filling includes lettuce along with your choice of filling, and the pancake is browned until slightly golden. It's sort of like a Western-style flour tortilla sandwich wrap that has a crispy outside. For drinks, they have a variety of Hong Kong-style teas and milk teas, but I'm more of a black coffee person, so the ones I tried are a bit too sweet for me (I think it's because Hong Kong milk teas traditionally use condensed milk (煉乳) as a sweetener). There are a few other items on their menu I haven't tried yet, but I'm looking forward to tasting them on my next visit!
