Zhongzheng District, Taipei City｜丸壽司

I had 丸壽司 about 2 years ago when I visited Taipei and I was completely satisfied at the time. When I visited Taipei this time I went looking for it again. When I searched online, I could not be sure that this was the joint I visited 3 years ago because the rating was so low! I could not believe it! I thought it had moved or it was the wrong restaurant. When I showed up, I was pretty sure that this was the same restaurant beause it was right next to the exit. I decided to give it another try. Again, probably the best rotating sushi I have had in entire Taipei. Granted, yes, the price is higher but definitely much cheaper than the US. The qualify was unbeatable. Yes, some other critics were concerned about food safety, but hey, it's a small place and the dishes are taken pretty quickly right after they are made so I didn't think the "food safety" issue was that serious. If you are really that worried, order directly from the chef. Yes, the wait staff was not like, super warm or anything but she definitely was not cold. I think other critics were just shocked by the price tag. I mean, my lunch bill did end up being about $2000 but it was definitely worth every dollar. I had several jumbo shimps, 3 sets of scallops and even a uni hand roll with generous portions. I am definitely coming back again. Such convenient location too!

Good sushi, not as crowded as the one at Breeze Centre B1. Price is above average.

The chefs at Maru Sushi on the second floor are very skilled. Every time I buy grilled sushi, even if I ask for it to be cooked, I can get perfect food. It is worth recommending and returning! But the service staff has to try their luck...
