Excellent fried chicken and other fried companion food was also tasty. The freshly chopped, deep fried garlic lifted the taste by a notch. Strongly recommended. Service can be a bit slow but mostly because they made every single order a fresh batch. Worth the wait.

I had planned on hitting up two night markets in one night because we were running out of days on our trip. We hit up Shida Night Market to get some fried chicken. Shi Yun has an English checklist menu which made ordering very simple. We ended up with a pile of fried food including a hash brown, fried tofu, fried chicken skin, and more. Everything was perfectly fried. The chicken was great but I particularly enjoyed the tofu. Really excellent food, but we ate so much that we were too full to try and hit up the other night market. Another big plus is that they have a bathroom for customers.

The best item here is the fish balls. They are huge and substantial. Close seconds are the glutinous stuff: sweet taro mochi and sticky rice sausage. The skewers have the perfect amount of breading, and always come out hot and fresh despite the crowds. They are not saucy but more the dry and crispy type which they do so well. You can switch it up with a side of curry to soak up the grease. Green beans are the best vegetable pairing imo. There is downstairs seating with stools at a couple high tops/bar.
