More Comments at Google MapCantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, and Shanghai cuisines are considered as the traditional Chinese cuisines, and they have plenty of fancy courses qualified for serving big party banquets. But there are not many of them could be found in the country nowadays, not to mention finding a real good one. The Generation X, the Millennial and the Gen Z have shunned away or lost interests in the traditional Chinese cuisine in favor of foreign cuisines or fast foods. It is like the big bands of the 50s and 60s in the music world that they've been long off the chart, a dying breed, without many followers. Most of the Chinese cuisines serve limited geological varieties or mixed dishes. In the last two decades, fushion Chinese cuisine has been the main stream Chinese food in the US and everywhere. If you want to eat a genuine Shanghai cuisine, you'll have to go to mainland China. Oh well, they have transformed many of their traditional cuisines into the trendy fushion ones too. But wait, I didn't have to go far, this one in Taipei serves great Shanghai cuisine. One drawback is that you need to put together an eating party of 4 people at least so you could order many courses to really enjoy a great meal. We did better than that last week, we had 10 volunteers. I enjoyed every single dish so that I had no time to take photos. I didn't remember how many courses that we had ordered. Hah!
Best Shanghai cuisine in Taipei! Locally sourced ingredients, free range chicken, healthy style and great selection of traditional and new recipes. Must visit!
Authentic and delicious, but you need to wait patiently
