Shilin District, Taipei City｜MaoInn Steak 錨隱廚牛排館 天母西餐廳

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Taipei. The fresh lobster is perfectly cooked and marinated steak is very tasty at this restaurant. The desserts are creative and well paired with tea, coffee or fresh fruit juice. We had a wonderful time chatting with the owner / chef and learned about the multiple levels of meaning behind the restaurant’s name and history.

I chanced upon this restaurant when I researching on food places. My friends told me that this was a new restaurant set up in December 2022 and they highly recommended the place. When we stepped in, the owner impressed us with his friendliness. He took time to introduce the background of the restaurant as well as the menu. We were very impressed by the care and effort that they took when attending to our order. My husband wanted his steak medium rare while we asked for ours to be served medium. They made sure the fineness was right by selecting the right cut of beef. The steaks were very tender on the inside, the sides were good, the soup was perfect (especially the puff pastry soup, the desserts were really good too! While we dined, the owner would visit our table from time to time and make small talks with us, making sure the food was up to expectations and sharing information about the ingredients that went into the making of the delicious meal we had. This made the whole dining experience very personalized, pleasant and totally enjoyable. We will definitely come back for meals the next time we visit Taipei again.
