Beitou District, Taipei City｜Kawayu-spa

I enjoyed this spa. So relaxing and hot. The cold bath is the best. The running fountain provides a good back run. The spa entry is so reasonable. The dinner after was pure ambrosia. I especially like this pork dish. Yummy.

It's rather far from downtown Xinbeitou, but worth the trip. Cost of entry just is just NT$200 for the public bath (segregated by gender and nude) while towels are available for NT$200. The public bath experience is great, since there are more facilities for you to enjoy than just soaking in a private bath. It's outdoors, and have three pools: a big soaking pool that averages at 42°C, a round cold whirlpool, and a hydrotherapy hot pool with massaging jets. There is also a sauna and a standing shower massage, and a massage room. Despite its distance from town, it's quite popular, and there were a number of people in the pools at 3pm on a Thursday.

Price of admission is $200. Take off your shoes, take of ALL your clothes and put them in a locker ($10), shower, then soak in the excellent thermal waters. There is a very hot pool, a larger hot pool, a warm pool with water jets to relax tense muscles, a steam room, and a cool Jacuzzi. You can easily spend the afternoon here! Blow driers are available, as well as a water fountain and bathroom. I would advise you to bring a bottle of water! And if you come with your husband or wife, make sure you set a meeting time since the bathing areas are gender segregated. We will definitely be coming back!
