This is a great place to try out great Taiwanese home cooking. There is a bounty of flavors, meats, vegetables, sauces, and adventurous ingredients if you’re not Taiwanese. Since it is a self help bar setup, you can choose the ones that pique your interest, enjoy, or just eat. The fish and meats are fresh, tender and done just right. There seem to be a steady stream of locals, usually a sign of a great place. The way food is calculated is unconventional, the owner looks at the plate and calculates the cost. We spend between $100-150 TWD, about $5-6 USD. I tried the pig blood soup, cubed blood cakes in soup was great. Good flavor and no “fishy” smell nor taste, means a well prepared dish. The place is clean but dated. You can see it’s been around, but it is kept clean and organized. The restroom area is old, but clean. A clean restroom means a clean kitchen from my experience. Update: spoke to the manager. The price is based on what you picked, versus by weight like in America. A mostly vegetable plate would be less than mostly meats. The advantage to this kind of calculation is no fillers, just good food. The price is behind the cashier, listing the cost of various dishes. They are in chinese, so translation is needed.

One of my favorite places to get a quick bite to eat, at great prices, and with lots of variety. Very tasty food and the selection is amazing.

There are many dishes, sweet potatoes with rock sugar, and sweet and sour pork ribs are delicious.
