Fantastic area to dine in. Superb local food. The owner is one of the best local Taiwanese I had met in Taipei. Must try: Squid, Fried Eggs. In fact, all foods are good in this place. Plus point: For who like to enjoy beers and whisky during dinner time, they have in the shop. Consumed two Balvenies for two visits. :D

We were looking for dinner place near our hotel and saw this place with great reviews. When we got there, it was packed. Fortunately we didn’t have to wait at all as we took the last table by the door. This place is like a Taiwanese Izakaya, great vibes, a lot of locals hanging out and drinking/eating with friends. Owner was extremely nice and you can tell he takes pride in his food and restaurant. We ordered the clam soup, fried cod, crispy shrimp, squid, veggies, fried rice, Taiwan beer. All of them were good. Our favorite was definitely the fried cod, followed by the shrimp and clam soup. The fish was so tender and melts in your mouth. Didn’t realize fried fish can be that tender. We didn’t end up getting the fried rice because we realized we ordered too much food and the owner also double checked with us to see if we wanted to cancel the fried rice before the kitchen made it. Really appreciated that. Will be back next time to try their chicken dish and their lotus seed one. Highly recommend checking out. Way better than all the Japanese izakaya places we’ve tried so far.

The Rouge Shrimp and Grape Shrimp are definite must trys! Grilled oysters tasted excellent too!
