Nice fine dining in Taipei that recently opened. The food is delicious, but it's not extraordinary for these type of cuisine. I do have to say this is one of the nicest atmosphere and superb service I've seen. In fact, I will rank this place higher than multiple Michelin star restaurants in Los Angeles and Taipei that I've been to. Highly recommend for a date; not so much a small group. The sitting is unique, you sit around the kitchen so you watch them prep & cook. You can be placed next to strangers because of this and you likely won't communicate with people that aren't sitting right next to you. They do have a private room, but I prefer the up close experience of witnessing the chefs assemble amazing dishes together.

What an experience! We came for a 14 course dinner in the private dining room and was blown away by Ad Astra team’s execution and attention to details. Service was impeccable - staff members were warm and engaging. They took great care to present, explain, and take feedback for each dish. We were most impressed by how quickly the team could cater to our dietary restriction as one member preferred no dairy and the team was able to swiftly make the necessary changes to accommodate our last min request (almost unheard of at any other fine dining venues with set menu) Wine and tea pairing - we loved that the sommelier selection focused on boutique wineries and producers around the world. We ordered wine and tea pairing, and thought the beverage palate and aroma really accentuated the food without stealing the show. Courses - the chef took great care to incorporate Taiwanese ingredients, I especially enjoyed the bold, smoky flavors and umami of the vegetarian dishes. The fusion incorporation of French base/Japanese presentation is often a hit or miss at other venues, but not here! The starter tuna and scallop were both a treat visually and taste wise. One of the most exceptional fine dining experiences I've had. The cuisine was exquisite, and the service was impeccable. Although the entrance might be a bit challenging to locate, once you discover it, it feels like stepping into a meticulously designed haven. Overall, a truly outstanding dining experience! 🧡🧡
