Taoyuan District, Taoyuan City｜Hot Cakes

The best American and Western breakfast place in this area of Taoyuan. Coffee is delicious, staff is friendly, and the food is a wonderful reminder of back home. Chocolate chip pancakes were perfectly moist with melty chocolate chips embedded throughout. Sunny side up eggs were perfect and my bacon was a little chewy rather than crispy, but still good. Oh, and the homemade diced potatoes were seasoned to perfection! Overall a great spot to hang with a coffee and some delicious food on a quiet side street in Taoyuan City.

This is the best brunch/breakfast place. Their food is consistently on point and the owners are unbelievably kind. They also have wifi if you want to support a local business in your next work session!

Hot Cakes is a cosy family friendly all-day breakfast/brunch restaurant. It has a casual "our house is your house" feel and the staff makes everyone feel right at home. The Acai bowl is a very healthy must try. It's fresh and a feast for the eyes and tastebuds. The pancakes (flapjacks) are big and fluffy and doesn't taste like premix like most pancakes in Taiwan do. No, these taste of homemade goodness. Yep, they're THAT good. And then there's the bacon, crispy and glistening, just as it should be. I liked the fact that there was a little photo booklet that came with the menu so one could see exactly what you are ordering. Also, an English menu is always a plus.
