Songshan District, Taipei City｜Shu Yu Beef Noodle Restaurant

Found this place by chance since my family and I were craving soup, it was the greatest surprise of our trip! The owner was so kind and understanding of us, as we couldn’t speak fluent Chinese. The tomato beef noodle was delicious!!!! The meat was so tender and juicy : the best beef noodle ever tasted here. Definitely recommend trying out this place for Taiwan’s beef noodles specialty. Will totally come back again to this place if we’re in Taiwan.

A bit of a hole in the wall kind of place, but amazing food and pretty clean to boot! Their braised beef is really tender! It's great in their soups, but I really love it in their rice topping dish with the orange sauce and tofu. Will definitely take my friends here when we go to Taipei.

Waw.. I am amazed by the food this little noodle joint can dish out. Especially the mapo tofu rice really blew me away. I won't say it is one of the best I have eaten in Taiwan but considering only costs NT$100 per serving, I can say it is one of the best value for money. Tomato beef noodle is pretty awesome too, the acidity from the tomato really balanced out the greasiness of the beef broth, which made it very pleasant to drink.
