this is one of the most special meals i’ve had in taitung. i think this is such an essential visit for any taitung visitor to get to try Amis food in a beautiful, intimate setting! firstly, the food is lovingly made and delivers so much flavor, originality, and satisfaction with each dish. the proprietress hangs out in the dining area with you and shares details about the food and is really accommodating with additional asks. she’s a real talent at hosting and makes everyone feel welcome. my first time we got the menu-less meal which was an abundant feast laid out for us when we arrived; we were shocked! roast chicken, pig feet, abai, salad, fried wild greens and potatoes with plum sauce (the best thing i’ve ever eaten), pork soup, DIY blanched wild veg and mushrooms, a pitcher of tea/juice, and red bean dessert soup. a transformative experience! my second time we got the pork foot and chicken set meals which came with a refreshing pitcher of some tea/juice (plum?), a side of pickled cucumbers, soup, green beans, potato salad, and egg with the best ever fried wild greens and potatoes + plum sauce. we asked if we could place an order of extra fried greens and she was very generous with it it’s also an unbelievably great value at 350 NT for set meal and 500 NT per person if you have 5+ people and ask for the menu-less meal. i would recommend buying a few of the excellent hot sauces and tipping if you can because this business deserves all the love note: definitely make a reservation. i messaged her on facebook a few days to a week in advance and there you can place your order secondly, the trip to the restaurant is absolutely stunning and provides a quintessential east rift valley viewing experience from either side. i like driving on the mountain roads coming from Luye but the quick trip from guanshan also has beautiful stopping points please check out this restaurant for an all-around wholesome experience 💛
