Wanrong Township, Hualien County｜Kiku's Kitchen - 蘭御坊

Absolutely beautiful place. Located in Wangrong, this hidden restaurant is a respite from the busy world offering delightful delicacies ,made from the ingredients which are grown locally. The owners are friendly and took care of our needs. The restaurant is located next to a farm and the views are breathtaking. The food is delicious and we had a blast interacting with the owners of the place. Make sure to call/reserve before going to the place.

I’ve been here at least 4 times in the past year and the food is always amazing! The menu is slightly different each time depending on seasonal fresh ingredients. The chef Kiku is innovative and always creating new dishes. Some favourite staples you can expect are the salted grilled whole fish, roasted chicken, and peanuts tossed with coriander and garlic. Portions are generous so we always leave feeling full and happy. Kiku and her husband are very entertaining too. Make sure you make a booking in advance. It’s not a walk-in resto, although you may be lucky and meet a group willing to invite you in on their table.

The people who live here and run this restaurant are some of the most amazing people I have had the pleasure of meeting! We camped on their property for 3 days and had a wonderful time enjoying their home life. The food was delicious, and so was their spice for life. Amazing!
