Jiaoxi Township, Yilan County｜森晴對樺CH_sweet 礁溪甜點咖啡廳

I don’t have a sweet tooth but to escape the heat, I ducked in here. It ended up being the best thing I could have done because the cakes were divine, made with finesse, panache and passion. I went alone but ended having two slices of tart - the chocolate and lemon tart. Was absolutely not planning on indulging that way, but was so impressed, I just had to. What stands out about the desserts is that they are flavored for Western palates - full, rich, unapologetic flavors - very rare in Taiwan. The lemon curd was so lemony, that it got my saliva glands going, but it was met in equal measure by its rising sweetness. The texture was creamy, soft and silky. Pillowy meringue on the edges completed it beautifully. The chocolate tart was beautifully bitter with a playful acidity and rich liquor that defines high quality chocolate. Will I go back? Try to stop me.

Fig pie is so good! Thai Tea is smooth and not too sweat.
