Beitou District, Taipei City｜北投黑金魚咖啡館

A real hidden gem of a cafe. The boss is friendly, the coffee aromatic, and the space cozy. Loved the smooth jazz music and the playful kitten that roams the place like its own kingdom. It's a good place to hangout with friends, read a book, or do some work. It's previous location outside Beitou station was convenient but the current location tugged away in a residential lane renders it a more cozy and familiar feel.

The best place to grab a smoke and enjoy a coffee in Beitou - or in Northern Taipei for that matter. Located right across the street from Beitou Station, you can enjoy the relaxing environment of the surrounding square while watching the trains go by. At night the square area is lit up and musicians will often perform nearby. At 100NT for the largest Americano (55 for a small), it is quite affordable as well. I would highly recommend visiting this cafe even if you are a non smoker just for it's fantastic location, friendly owner, great and aromatic coffee and relaxed atmosphere.
