I visited Under the Bridge on a random Wednesday afternoon so I can’t tell you what the atmosphere is like at the weekend or in the evening. What I can say is that I was pleasantly surprised by the large size, nice decor and good food. This is a close to a normal British pub as I’ve found in Hsinchu. The staff were friendly and the seating comfortable. I can imagine that this would be a good place to relax and drink or read. I opted for the fish and chips (feeling a touch homesick). The chips were hand cut and cooked to perfection, the fish pieces could have been cooked a bit longer although I liked the batter. I think I paid 220 for the fish and chips plus 250 for a glass of white wine (the food felt ok value and the wine less so). Generally a very nice experience. Will go back at a more normal time.
