Wanhua District, Taipei City｜Cho Café

We initially thought it’s just another usual fancy cafe until we saw their accolades. Great specialty coffee and cool experience. Whatever your kind of coffee is, bet they’ll have it for you. Highly recommended and will definitely come back. Upon reading previous reviews, apparently it is expected to return your trays. However, when we were there, we didn’t find any tray return station so we just left.

My friend and I came on a busy Sunday in Ximen. We we supposed to go to another cafe but it was packed. Just a bit off the beaten track lies this spacious, relaxing Cho Café, which turned out to be a nice surprise. The coffee came with a boarding pass that serves as both a flavor profile and a business card. Nice touch. Everything was served on top of a wooden tray. Another plus. The tables are not cramped together, giving people enough privacy. Another thing I’d like to point out is the service is mainly self help. The menu is brought to your table but you have to get up and go to the counter to order. After your drink is served at your table, everything else is up to the customer including getting up for water or bringing your glass to the counter for more ice. Unlike some reviews here, we did not have to clean up table though. Overall, I’d recommend it.

They treat their coffee like a fine wine tasting experience. Definitely the best coffee we’ve had in Taipei so far!! Wonderful, relaxed cafe atmosphere as well — an oasis from the heat and bustle of the city.
