Banqiao District, New Taipei City｜原木屋手作咖啡（Log House Coffee)

In the past few years in Taiwan true "craft" coffee has finally become a thing. In years past it would be a tiny bit of coffee with a ton of milk and mostly a ton of sweeteners with some novelty with the designs. Not knocking on that (I also love myself a cute character design latte or some swirls of caramel and cold/hot frothed milk) but only in recent years do people care about beans and black coffee! Here the owner is really knowledgable and really loves his craft. The coffee shop showcases a couple of the coffee beans that do the best in global coffee bean awards. Although the prices are a little bit higher than your normal coffee in Taiwan (come on you can get a coffee at 7/11 for like 1USD or so) but you really get what you pay for. He serves the high placing coffees in antiques too so you really get an experience (the strawberry cup is like 20-30 years old crafted in Japan!). My cousin got the fruit tea which he makes from scratch and real fruit (it's not very sweet though so I'd tell him if you want it sweeter he'll add some fruit sugar to it). The owner's main job is a interior designer actually so the feeling of the coffee shop is great with little plants and very beautiful decor. The coffee shop is something of his "retirement" plans doing something he really loves so you can really talk to him about his passion for coffee! A really great and unexpected spot in Taiwan!

It turned out that the coffee I had been looking for for a long time after returning to Taiwan was hidden in the alley. The milky aroma of the latte does not overwhelm the coffee👍, watching the barista carefully prepare the coffee across the workbench, chatting with me from time to time, as if casual and natural in the kitchen of a friend's house. Take a break and enjoy life
