Hard to find, but worth the effort! The owner, Gin, is a lovely Taiwanese-Canadian woman, who was patient and answered all our questions. She seemed genuinely happy to help us and talk to us about tea. We got the Oriental Beauty Tea and the Taiwan Black Tea. Both were delicious and flavorful, without any added sugar! I highly recommend LiuYu Teahouse. Thanks Gin!

The best traditional Taiwanese tea drinking experience I’ve ever had in all the years I’ve traveled to my mother’s homeland. Dégustation at its finest. Gin, the teahouse owner, enthusiastically shares her in depth knowledge of each tea along with the beautiful interwoven history of Taiwan. While the many varieties of oolong teas are what the island is known for, numerous other teas are available to try and are oh so decadent, especially with the little treats that are carefully prepared for pairing with each tea. Gin works closely with her tea farmer to present the very best of teas that are organically cultivated and processed in the most natural and traditional of methods. If you’re looking for a super special experience outside of the typical touristy attractions, this place is a must visit, at least once. Though, one visit to LiuYu Teahouse is simply not enough...there is always more to try. Thank you Gin for opening up my mind and tastebuds!

This place was wonderful and Gin was such a great host! She recommended a tasting for us and my friend and I sat and drank tea with her for hours, chattjng away about tea and Taiwan. Gin speaks English, Mandarin, Cantonese, and French, so communicating with her was really easy. She answered so many questions for us and we had such a fun time. We left with so much new information about tea and excited to learn more about Wanhua!
