Caotun Township, Nantou County｜Fresh Hot Pot

I don't even know where to begin. I guess I'm still processing how this place could get such an average rating. My experience here had been very good. At $700-800 NTD per adult, you can eat your fill of a variety of foods and the quality is pretty good as well. I suppose I'll start with my first impression. Walking in I knew they were busy and packed. I can hear it from the lobby but the inside was wide and spacious. No one was running or bumping into each other for the fresh crabs or fighting to line up for the sashimi. Everyone was calm and enjoying their meals like civilized people. I emphasize this because there have been similar buffets I've visited in the past and the people were in such a frenzy they would run to line up or just not look where they are going and try to run you over. They would give the walking dead zombies a run for their money! The service was surprisingly speedy, they came to check on our table multiple times to clear off empty plates as they do accumulate quickly. If you are low on soup for your hotpot, you can fill them up yourself by grabbing the corresponding soup carafe at the buffet stations. There was always someone nearby and the service staff was quick and efficient to make sure everything was clean and in order. As you can see from the pictures there are a variety of food items. From a wide range of hotpot ingredients including fresh sliced meat off to the side. You can pick and choose as much or as little as you like. There is a variety of types of seafood including Sashimi, whole crabs, oysters and shrimps. A variety of cooked foods (the ham fried rice was especially delicious) from steamed dim sum to pizza and wings if you like. To top this all off, they have 3 different brands of ice cream, Hagen-Daz being one of them, and a lot of other desserts as well. They even have chocolate fondue!! If you get a chance to visit and you like peanut butter and chocolate, give the one in the picture I posted a try, you won't regret it! I would definitely come back again if I am in the area. The service was speedy and professional, the food was delicious and the best part was the amount of variety to choose from. I don't need to stuff myself, I just like having a good variety to choose from. Also at the advertised price, I'm not sure how they are make my it work but I wish them well and hope they stick around for a very long time. 100% Give it a try, it's worth it.

A hidden gem in this small town. Booking is highly recommend. Choose your own favourite pot, then go around and pick whatever you like. Wonderful variety: meat, seafood, vegetables, hot and cold, spicy or sweet. Mix your own sauce, top up the pot base......

wow 😋 It is really the happiness of Caotun people. At such a common price, you can actually eat desserts with high CP value and fresh seafood. And the waiters there are all young brothers and young ladies, and their service attitude is also first-rate 😙😙
