Zhongshan District, Taipei City｜Mala Hot Pot

Where has this restaurant been all my life. 15 times I've visited Taiwan and I've just discovered this mala hotpot chain restaurant. Good prices, order via QR code from your phone. They have delicious meats, vegetables and Mala soups. The spicy soybean oil sauce/dip is just the best thing ever, I could eat everything with it 😅 One price gets you unlimited food, beer, and haagen dazs ice cream for about 90 minutes. It's a bit cheaper if you come for lunch during weekdays. No credit cards accepted at any of their locations. Highly recommended!

This is our favourite hotpot chain. Got the second tier buffet lunch set (NT$799 / 898) which we feel is good enough. It includes Prime Australian Wagyu. The beef is fresh, silky, and delicious. I love the braised items such as pork intestines, beef tendon, and beef tripe. Also love the duck's blood which we cannot get in Singapore. Veggies are a bit limited but it is okay as there are so many items one can eat. Including a huge selection of Häagen-Dazs and Mövenpick ice-cream. There's also unlimited Heineken and Taiwan beer, as well as many other non-alcoholic drinks. Dining time limit is 2 hours and you get 1 hour 30 minutes to order via a QR code. There's also a NT$100 cleaning fee per person. Summary: Best hotpot chain ever.

1000 TWD per pax for an awesome buffet dinner. Their beef was good but I actually liked the regular flank beef more than the fancy wagyu one. The A-grade Matsusaka pork was impressive - super tender and crispy at the same time. The wide selections of Haagen Dazs ice cream at the end made it a fulfilling experience.
