Tender, juicy and delicious; the sushi category is single-piece or mixed. I ordered the sashimi mixed and grilled salmon, raw beef, and shrimp. They were all tender and delicious without any fishy smell; I ordered the shrimp hand roll and the hand roll. The mentaiko are also delicious, and there is rice wrapped in the mentaiko; the fresh fish miso soup is a big piece of fish, the meat is elastic, and the soup has just the right amount of salty and sweet, very delicious; the pork cutlet set meal is fried just right and has a lot of juice, and the chawanmushi is relatively ordinary and tasteless. Yamato Japanese Restaurant is a long-established Japanese restaurant, not a high-end restaurant like Mitsui or Shintori, nor a trendy restaurant like DOMO or Hanashuzo that attracts young people. There are no fancy cooking tricks or gorgeous presentation methods, it is an unpretentious but very down-to-earth Taiwanese restaurant. But I think the point is that they also have continuous improvement. Yamato has several branches in Taipei. This Zhongxiao store near the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall is well-decorated, simple, spacious and comfortable, and the quality of the food seems to have improved accordingly. But the price is about the same as other branches (but I didn't compare it carefully). There are no noble ingredients, but they are quite satisfying. There is nothing to be picky about the set food, it is hot and delicious. It is a good restaurant worth recommending and suitable for frequent visits.
