More Comments at Google Mapgreat lunch menu for under 300. The downside is that the salmon belly is too good and I end up paying more than what I should (350twd).
delicious! The price is above average, I thought it was high, but it's not bad, the food is real, the seafood is very fresh, and the CP value is very high. The grilled fish is very tender and delicious when eaten alone. It is also great if you add some salt. There is a lot of meat. The sukiyaki is just right and not overly salty. There are also many ingredients and the meat is very large. The fried fish has no fish bones and is served with pork chop sauce. Tender, juicy and delicious; the sushi category is single-piece or mixed. I ordered the sashimi mixed and grilled salmon, raw beef, and shrimp. They were all tender and delicious without any fishy smell; I ordered the shrimp hand roll and the hand roll. The mentaiko are also delicious, and there is rice wrapped in the mentaiko; the fresh fish miso soup is a big piece of fish, the meat is elastic, and the soup has just the right amount of salty and sweet, very delicious; the pork cutlet set meal is fried just right and has a lot of juice, and the chawanmushi is relatively ordinary and tasteless. The only thing that didn't taste good was a small dessert after the meal, which was winter melon tea jelly. It was delicious and not too sweet. The waiters are all aunties and mothers. They are different from ordinary Japanese restaurants who employ young people. They all have their own preferences. Some people think that speaking Taiwanese loudly means poor service and rudeness, but we are satisfied with it. Friendly and well-introduced, and recommended a lot of delicious food. Because the Taiwanese language has a little more warmth, I overall like this restaurant very much.
Yamato Japanese Restaurant is a long-established Japanese restaurant, not a high-end restaurant like Mitsui or Shintori, nor a trendy restaurant like DOMO or Hanashuzo that attracts young people. There are no fancy cooking tricks or gorgeous presentation methods, it is an unpretentious but very down-to-earth Taiwanese restaurant. But I think the point is that they also have continuous improvement. Yamato has several branches in Taipei. This Zhongxiao store near the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall is well-decorated, simple, spacious and comfortable, and the quality of the food seems to have improved accordingly. But the price is about the same as other branches (but I didn't compare it carefully). There are no noble ingredients, but they are quite satisfying. There is nothing to be picky about the set food, it is hot and delicious. It is a good restaurant worth recommending and suitable for frequent visits.
