More Comments at Google MapThis is the first time to enjoy a no-menu Chef Faban Japanese Cuisine in another place. To ensure the quality of the food, guests need to make an appointment a few days or earlier, and the restaurant only accepts cash. If you need to go, please prepare enough cash. I enjoyed a dinner worth 2980 Taiwan dollars that day, and the food materials were mainly seafood from the waters near Japan and Taiwan. After arriving, I ordered Japanese plum wine. About 10 to 15 minutes later, the head sushi chef served the first dish, monkfish fish liver, the second dish was Japanese grouper, seasoned with rock salt, and the third dish The first dish is Kumamoto oysters seasoned with truffle salt, very fresh and sweet. Next is Beiji shellfish, which is also very fresh. There is also Japanese white shrimp served with sea urchin, perilla and flower caviar, which is very pleasing to the eye. Next are fluorescent squid, sea bream sushi, the very favorite left mouth fish sushi, Taiwanese soft squid, Japanese mackerel sushi, Japanese mackerel sashimi, and Datoluo sea urchin hand roll. For dessert, steamed eggs with duck liver, lobster and clam miso soup and Japanese red bean soup are served. In addition, the sushi chef introduced each dish very carefully, and was also very talkative. I will try it again next time, and I sincerely recommend it!
The best restaurant during my five-day Taipei trip! Excellent and fresh fish from the seas of Japan at a fraction of similar omakase experiences found in other parts of the world. I had little expectation of this place, especially when I found out that none of the chefs there are Japanese and the Chef with us said he is trained by a local. However, the worry was non existent after a while. The dishes that were served to us were of a high standard and the explanations given were of no lesser quality of a Michelin star sushi restaurant in Japan and Singapore. I would definitely return to this place if I go back to Taipei, and it will be one of the top recommendations I would give to all foodies. Only drawback is that they only accept cash and speaks little English, so had to do some googling to find out what the name of the fish was and had to get my friend to translate.
Great food, great service and great experience. This is my first time to eat Omakesa and it was an amazing experience. I ordered the most expensive set and got a total of 18 dishes.
