Hidden on Linsen Road, opposite the Hualien City Government Office and Fubon Bank, this low-key signboard would have been completely unnoticed unless recommended by a friend. The store is on the second floor and you need to take stairs to get up. There are not many seats, and there are outdoor seats. When I came at noon, there were only a few warm-colored lights on in the store, and the large windows let in the afternoon sunlight naturally. Jazz piano music is playing in the store, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. The food was served quickly. I ordered the Kandaya beef donburi (190 yuan). The set meal comes with miso soup and green tea. For an additional ten yuan, you can change it to iced green tea, or vice versa. The green tea here is not the clear Taiwanese green tea, it is more like matcha, the kind where you can see the powder suspended, but I have no experience in tea, and I can't tell the difference between green tea and matcha. There are a lot of kelp, tofu and green onions in the soup, which is refreshing and not salty. The stir-fried beef slices with onions in the beef bowl are well-balanced. The onions are not soft and the beef is very tender. With the green onions cut into sections, it is not too heavy on the taste. The rice is not large and it does not feel like it is not enough to go with the fried pork slices. However, the portion is really good. It's a big drawback. I had a beef bowl and the bomb scallion pancake from the next street, which was just right. Moreover, their rice has distinct grains and a chewy texture. It is delicious when paired with half-raw egg juice and beef sauce. It is very delicious. When I came at noon, the only side dishes were pickled cucumbers, but every time I tasted the pickled food, I could tell the restaurant’s care. It has a slightly sour taste and crispy texture. It is delicious even if it is not paired with staple food. It is rare to eat something so uncommercial. Pickles that enhance the flavor. Overall, the atmosphere and decoration in the store, as well as the careful cooking of the food, are well worth the price. Maybe it's a little too expensive for a bowl of gyudon, but this place is not suitable for fast-food-oriented gyudon lovers. Here you can slow down, listen to music, and read a book in the store. By the way, Japanese, English and Chinese are all fluent. All in all, the reviews are great value for money.

Must order pork hamburger steak!! Worth to wait for 20mins. The staff here most are Japanese!! Great service and patient. Nice delicate food. Would love to come here again and again.

Delicious food and very friendly, English speaking staff. You get a big and tasty dish for less money. They have a lot of meat on the menu, but also some vegetarian options if you ask. Very relaxing atmosphere!
