Beidou Township, Changhua County｜北斗東山鴨頭

This braised/fried duck head place is one of Beidou's more famous eateries, and also one of the more difficult to find. Hidden in plain sight on the Douzhong Rd., this place consists of a small food truck that will only appear shortly before the opening. More so, the new location is quite removed from Beidou's other restaurants and main street, as well as being separated by an almost insurmountable intersection devoid of sensible pedestrian crossings. The food is good (personally i prefer the place in Taipei's Xindian district), but beware that you may have to wait for twenty plus minutes. Best to call in after 7 and hope someone has a minute to pick up the phone. Recommendable choices are the tempura, the quail eggs, the duck skin, as well as the tofu. Not a fan of the shiitake, which seems a bit too watery for this type of preparation.
