Simple meal but the noodles and Tofu, eaten with the chilli sauce, packed a punch of flavour. The portion looks small but it is quite filling. Worth the 5 minute walk up the hill. You may walk here as you finish the old street or walk from Fort San Domingo, the bus stop is just 10min walk away.

Tamsui has a lot of "Ah Gei" (snacks, fried tofu stuffed with meat and rice noodles + fish balls). The host of the B&B recommends the authentic and original "A Gei" that the locals eat. Three old sisters run an inconspicuous little shop with original flavor, praise 👍 Brunch at authentic "Ah Gei", recommended by the owner of homestay. The local will visit this shop manned by three old sisters in an old corner of Tamsui. Cheap & good 👍

So simple yet so good and so much better than those lackluster Agei that you find nearer to the Tamsui MRT. This stall is much further away from the MRT, totally off the coarse of the crowded Tamsui old street and even need to hike up a steep road to get here. And there are in fact 3 stalls in the same row selling the same thing and this stall seems to be the original stall though it was another stall that had larger crowds. Decided to go for originality and if it backfired, will head to the popular stall for 2nd round and luckily this was not needed.
