Chanced upon this store as I was walking around exploring the outdoor market. Personally I’m a fan of mushrooms and seeing how they were grilling it intrigued me and I bought a serving to try. The process is relatively simple. They would grill the mushrooms over charcoal until soft, then brush it with brown sauce and continue grilling. Then they would chop up the mushrooms and weigh 240g and you can choose 2 seasonings and the bowl will cost you NT100. I would recommend the lemon pepper. I tried seaweed too but felt the flavour didn’t blend in as well as the lemon. It’s somewhat calming to watch the stall owner grilling batches and batches of mushrooms to the growing queue outside the stall.
Quite a long queue for this but worth the wait. The mushroom (Pleurotus eryngii) is grilled on the outside and juicy in the inside. The stall display caught my eye but what really caught my eye is the long queue. I already marked this as one of the food i want to try on my trip and it is really worth it. During my queue the stall helper come over and ask for our order and then she give us a small plastic token as proof of payment. You can choose 2 flavor out of the few varieties of flavors, but really the chef just spray both flavors on the bowl so its a mix of both flavor.
