Songshan District, Taipei City｜Fuzhou Ancestor Pepper Pie

One of the best food I've had in Taipei! The bun is crunchy outside and juicy inside. The meat is seasoned perfectly with the five-spice powder, smells incredibly attractive. Be careful it's piping hot. The queue is long but moves very fast. 60NTD per piece as May 2023, quite high for a bun in Taipei but worths it. There is also a pepper pie stall right outside the entrance of this night market, don't be mistaken. The right stall is right after the entrance!

Has a line but it really runs very fast so easy to get. The bun is very hot and has a crispy crust but make sure to blow on the filling before biting as someone in our party burned their tongue from how hot the bun was (which wasn't necessarily a bad thing because it's a testament to how fresh from the oven it was) It's spicy to the normal palate so if you're sensitive to spice, make sure to bring water before buying!

60NTD each! Pipping hot! Is it really that delicious? No, but it definitely an experience if you come to Raohe! Most people will queue for this! Queue do move fast! It basically pork flavoured with black pepper!
