West Central District, Tainan City｜魚壽司

My absolute favorite "local vibe" dinner place for guests to feel the light care, attention and relaxed high quality that marks Tainan for me. It's located in a traditional market. It's hosted by a small (getting smaller) group of friends who I'd guess have been friends/relatives for 5+decades. Recently young teammates are brought into the fold. The food is Wonderful. MUST ORDER Zhi1 Shao1 salmon. Beyond that just follow your eyes and stomach. Deep fried calamari was my next favorite on my last visit, but cold vinegared fern is always a winner. I arrive before my husband, and they inquire if husband and dog (扭扭 they inquire after by name). Beside their spread of a restaurant is a stand selling lemon sugar cane juice. Must must must try. It's gold. It's all gold. And relaxed and caring. Tainan heart radiant.
