It is rare to find something crispy in Taiwan instead of chewy, mealy or undercooked. This is a hard fried shrimp and pork wonton. It's CRISPY and CRUNCHY and DELICIOUS. There's not much shrimp or pork meat in there, but it's crunchy and delicious. I do recommend painting on a generous portion of both the chili and the garlic sauce, I put garlic on one side and chili on the other and have to tell you that this is a snack that can make a small meal. I don't know why people complain or what they expect, it looks like a delicious,cheap, hard fried wanton and it IS exactly that. Congrats for walking up this far from the MRT, you're finally near the cool part of old town. Go see the art museum , the Mackay Church, go up to the harbor or climb the hill for the Japanese, British and Dutch historical sites.
