Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan｜Japanese Ramen Noodle Lab Q

Went for shio ramen and shoyu ramen. Both delicious, 1800 jpy each. Delicious broth and superb meat. Worth 1.5 hr wait.

This ramen was class. Soup is made of 4 types of chicken broth, with a mix of 5 different tare soy sauce. Noodle is a rich blend of 6 different Hokkaido flours, cooked to al dente. Then topped with sous-vide mochibuta pork and Shintoku chicken, all with extremely tender texture and full of flavour. Also ordered the meat & onion rice, which includes barbequed pork, sous-vide pork and chicken. Scoop a spoonful of this rice and dip it into the broth... it’s a perfect bite.

Mazesoba I ate today was good. The meat had a nice texture but maybe felt a little too soft. They bring out vinegar and some spice so you can add as you wish. Unfortunately I sat at the bar and they had people sitting right next to each other. During these times (COVID) they should space people a little bit better. I know they won’t put up plastic dividers since it’ll ruin their aesthetic, but I had one person directly sitting next to me. The place is crowded and popular, so don’t expect your food to come out quickly, there will be a wait. They work hard to get you your order but it takes around 20 min from when you give your ticket to the girl at the front, get sat down, and actually get your food. I get out of work at 12:15 for lunch, Lab Q is literally across from my work, I didn’t get my order until 12:39. Had to be back at work by 1 p.m. so the timing was alright. Was it worth the wait? I’m not sure. Better to come when you’re not in a rush for a stress free meal. But it is delicious! This is my second time here, and I really recommend their mazesoba!
