Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan｜Ramen Tanaka Shōten

This was a nice little place for a ramen craving. There are a handful of parking spaces out front, and inside is similarly small. There are around 5 counter seats where you can watch the cooking in the kitchen, and two tables in the back with more space for families. The miso ramen was not too heavy and had a great flavour, while the noodles were firm and springy. The server was friendly and helpful to all customers, directing them to wait or to order while waiting so that when their seat was ready they would not wait long before their meal arrived. Gochisousamadeshita!

As of October 2023, it is a highly rated restaurant with a Tabelog rating of 3.45. The owner's recommendation is salt ramen and spicy miso ramen, but I was in the mood for miso ramen, so I had the miso ramen. It's best when it's so hot that it burns your mouth. The soup is rich, rich, and flavorful. It's a busy restaurant, and there are always benches waiting to be seated. This is a delicious ramen shop that you can understand 🍜

I stopped by on my way back from visiting a grave at Takino Cemetery. Apparently it's open from 11-15. When I arrived at 1230, there were already about 20 people in line, including inside the store. Five of us ate miso ramen, spicy miso ramen, and salt ramen. I ordered miso ramen and the noodles are chijire noodles, which seem to be made in-house. It was a very delicious ramen that went well with the miso soup and was not too salty. I thought it was the best miso ramen ever.
