Shinjuku City, Tokyo, Japan｜Kōei Honten

Had dinner with my partner there on 24 June 2023 while on vacation in Japan. Food was incredible, all the meats were extremely fresh and delicious after being cooked over the charcoal grill. Highly recommend the special karubi (特選カルビ) which was so good that we ordered a second serving. Love the different cuts of beef tongue as well. Also suggest trying the Yukhoe (ユッケ) here if you are up for raw beef, this was easily the best Yukhoe I have had outside of South Korea. Service was excellent, with all the staff being very attentive and kept making sure that our drinks were filled and helping us when the fire got too intense. Will definitely come here again in the future when I am in Tokyo.

The staff are very nice and food quality is good. We ordered quite a lot of beef and different meat. I would say beef tongue and the wagyu beef is a must try! Super satisfied with it!

Brilliant restaurant, great price, delicious meat and fantastic service, would definitely recommend even if you're a tourist. There is an English menu that is well translated and quite a lot of the staff speak enough English to help. We had 5 rounds in the end because the meat tasted so good! The alcohol is also very reasonably priced.
