I was not disappointed. Delicious. You can expect to wait one hour or more in line, bur it is well worth it if you are in Tokyo. I would recommend the tantanmen, and do not hesitate to order extras (egg, meat, etc.)

Very worth the price for a Michelin star ramen even for the waiting time. We went here on Friday ~12.30. We waited outside for ~30 minutes until 13.00 and we went inside to order using touch screen. There is no sign for the waiting place, but you can see from the information printed in front of the door. The staff will hand you umbrella if the weather is too hot. There was mixed of local people and tourist from different countries that came. The place is not too big, maybe only serve ~10 persons. You can choost to be seated on the table or counter near the kitchen (where you can see the food being cooked). Serving time is quite fast even though the kitchen staff is only 2-3 persons, after you order, you'll be seated and wait several minutes then your ramen is ready. The ramen itself is spectacular, broth is rich and savory, with chewy noodle. I really like the ramen. With only 1000-2000 Yen/person, it's probably one of culinary spot that you need to visit when you go near Otsuka.

Overall, very long wait, but great and cheap Michelin star meal Came on a Thursday at 10:30 am (they open at 11 am). There was 10-15 people ahead of me. Waited 3 hrs before I sat down. FYI, there is a familymart a block away that many people went to while waiting. The reason for the wait, only 2 employees. 1 stayed in the kitchen the entire time while the other 1 bussed tables, served, cooked, and managed the queue (mvp). For my 15 mins I spent actually eating, half the seats were empty inside. I guess it's either make people wait to keep prices down by cutting back on staffing, or hire more employees and raise prices to serve more customers. They chose the first option You place your order on a vending machine inside, then wait for them to seat you. There is about 12 seats inside. Mostly bar seating with 2 tables If I hadn't eaten some random convenience store food prior, I would have been hangry. I ordered the spicy tantan ramen with egg and cha siu pork along with a spicy shrimp and pork wontons dish. Limit 1 ramen per person. Both dishes were excellent. I have only had tantan ramen maybe a few times, but this was the best. Wontons were really good too. Overall, the food was actually quite good and cheap ($16 USD for a Michelin meal of 2 dishes) so I was not mad about the wait in the end. I'd say it's worth a 1-2 hr wait, but not 3 hrs. Just arrive early to make the most of your time
